Much Training Needed
I have created an actual category for the puppy, as I figure until he's trained, he'll be the subject of much writing. Cats simply are not this difficult to get acclimated, nor do they require more training than a day locked in the bathroom with their litter box. That's why cats are better. ;-)
As of yet, we haven't seen any particular sign from Semper that means, "I need out to do my business." More or less, we take him out every hour or so, and he's good. Well, except that he likes to piss on the landing under our room. But he hasn't taken a crap in the house. Until today. I'm going to preface this with: I think Dave was largely watching him during the day, and he's been up 30+ hours. A large portion of that time was likely spent playing FFXI, so it's entirely possible that he zoned. It's not his fault, and it's not the puppy's fault either. Until he's actually trained, and understands that what happened is wrong, then it's merely an accident.
My main thing at the moment is that he was pretty much confined to the den. He didn't know how to make it up the stairs, and therefore someone was always in the den with him. He's easier to watch in a smaller area, but if he's upstairs and all, he's got three rooms he has access to (four counting the bathroom), and therefore not the easiest to watch. I'm going to see if we have a house breaking book "For Dummies" or something at work, to see what the best method is. We had been largely using the crate, but now he's largely got free-fun.
On the brightside, the puppy got a "bath" today. He was nearly out of food, so we went to Petsmart to get a large bag of food and waterless-shampoo. We ended up getting the moistened doggie wipes, which small almost exactly like baby wipes. -_- We got bath ones, and then also a pack of clean-up ones, because they had recommended (when we got the puppy) that we buy baby wipes to clean his wrinkles. So they're got getting rid of his eye-snot and freshen up his wrinkles. Also, we got a rubber-bristled brush, because he sheds so much that he looks like Pig-Pen sometimes.
When we got home, we brushed him down and then Mike gave him a good scrubbing with one (sorry, three) of the wipes. I gave him a follow up brushing, because the 'bath' caused another cloud to rise. I'm happy ... no more puppy-scent! Believe me, after almost two weeks with no bath, but numerous wet romps outside ... he stunk. Fresh puppy!

Sometimes...
Sometimes this program really annoys me. MT is a wonderful application, and I honestly cannot say I've found one better (having tried WP and EE, among others).
That said, when it doesn't do something that I want it to do, I get annoyed. -_- Right now, I'm trying to get the archives to just give an excerpt of the post, rather than the whole thing, as I'm getting ready to start imputing old entries. However, I don't want to do that, until I have the archives under complete control. /sigh
Back to work I go.
Update! I got it to work finally. I took out everything MT from the template, and then re-pasted in the default one (which mine was a modification of) and then remodified. Surprisingly, it worked. Woot!
