Merry Christmas!

At 8pm, I am utterly exhausted... and that's even with a minor nap at Deborah's house!! I was woken up at 7am by what I had thought was Deb setting up. It turns out that it was actually Cindy and Sean, beating on the door to be let inside. They drove up from Myrtle Beach to surprise Deb, and from what they all say she went into shock when she finally came downstairs. LOL

We had Christmas morning with Mike's parents (and Dave, which was the first year ever though he's been living here for a good six years or so). Afterward we trekked over to Deborah and Tommy's, before Mike and I came back home around noon so that we could call Mom and Dad. A couple hours later, we were back at Deborah's to eat and share more presents with Grandma. That's when Mike and I took our little nap; heh. We came back home, and then ran across the street in the cold to visit with Bev, Billy and family.

It was a wonderful Christmas, though I was away from my family. Of course, there are more kids out here, which makes it a bit more fun. Otherwise I would have been home playing video games or something. Heh.

The List

I have soo much to put away. >_< Thank God tomorrow is Sunday!

Well, since Mike's going to be attached to the PS2 for like weeks as he got like six games, I'm going to play WoW. Maybe get drunk and throw snowballs. LOL Apparently something special is supposed to happen. ::Shrug.:: Maybe I'll see if its possible to hook up the PS2 to the computer? I can hope!

Just an Announcement

I'm in heaven, drowning myself in the chocolate-nutty-goodness of Ferrero Rocher, which was a gift from our manager Melinda. I think I may need to lock the box away, else I may end up ill in ... well, a hour. LOL

Battlegrounds Coming (Eventually)

Today Blizzard began a series of articles based upon the upcoming Battlegrounds feature to be added to World of Warcraft. Many followers of WoW prior to retail believed that when WoW went retail, Battlegrounds would be in place; especially if you look at the manual and see Battlegrounds included (along with a PvP system that has not been implemented).

Outside of horsing around with friends on UO, I have never played PvP. Hell, I don't even play FPS (though I am interested; just never gotten around to playing one). About one week into playing WoW, I expierenced my first faction raid. I was playing my Night Elf in Darkshore, when an announcement went out that we were under attack. Mind you, I'm like level 12 at the time, and apparently the Horde group ranged in the 40's (all I know is that instead of a numeric value listed, it just had a deathshead skull). Someone was building a massive Alliance raid group and inviting everyone. I joined in, thinking What the Hell. The worse that could happen was I would die, and make a corpse run. Which is what I did. LOL! But it was very much enjoyable, and really made me interested in PvP.

The reason I won't join a full PvP server, however, is the fact that you are always flagged, and sometimes I honestly would like to just play the game. I love questing, like farming, thoroughly enjoy fishing. I don't want some 20+ level higher person coming up and ganking me just to boost their ego. Sorry, not interested. Looking over the plans for Battlegrounds is exciting though! It will be on all three vareties of servers (PvE, PvP and RP) and have at least what appears to be a limited accessibility to most levels (they say that low levels will be able to do quests to assist their side in relation to Battlegrounds).

Man, I really cannot wait for it to be patched in!

Dimebag Darrell

In the mornings, Mike will typically sign on quickly for various reasons. This morning, the news he found on AOL's Welcome screen was not very welcoming. Guitar legend, and founder of both Pantera and Damageplan, Dimebag Darrell had been murdered at Damageplan's concert last night in Ohio.

The ironic piece of this, is that I had been discussing Pantera with Mike just last week (this past weekend perhaps), after they had been mentioned on some show. I loved Pantera when I was in high school, and though its been a few years since I last listened to Vulgar Display of Power (sadly, my own Pantera album at the moment--I'm updating iTunes at the moment to download more) I can still hear every guitar riff off that album.

The man was amazing, and was certainly one of the leading metal guitarists. On MTV's site, a fan remarked about how Heaven was forming one hell of a band, with the addition of Darrell to such amazing men as Cliff Burton, John Bonham, Bon Scott, etc.

Aside from Darrell, there were three other innocents murdered, and at least two others wounded. The fifth killed was the shooter, as a police officer was luckily patrolling the area around the club and entered via the exit and shot the gunman. Had the officer not been so close to the scene, there easily would have been more deaths, as apparently the gunman was still shooting.

Thinking back on today, I realize that no matter how bad my day was, I have it easy compared to most. (And let me assure you, that while the day itself wasn't bad, but the conversation after work and realizing just how two-faced some people are at work.)

On another sad note, our bearded dragon, Shadowstorm, also died yesterday, though of unknown causes.
