Another Halloween Theme
1. What is your earliest Halloween memory? What costume did you wear? Why did you pick it? The earliest memory of Halloween that I have is when my parents let me go trick-or-treating with Teresa (our next-door neighbor). I remember that it was the first time I left the block for trick-or-treating; we went probably four blocks up the street that t-bones us here (I live here once again, yet cannot think of the name of that damned street! Farragut possibly). I have no clue what I was dressed up as. Knowing me, I was a cat. Meow!
2. Did you go trick or treating as a child? If so, did you travel alone or in a pack? What was the best part about trick or treating as a child? I'm not sure at what age my parents first took me trick-or-treating. I know that I was dressed up for my first true Halloween, but I don't know if I went out with . . . well, whoever went. Donna and I were Raggedy Ann, and I have no idea what Rob was. I would say a pirate, but I think that was possibly another year. Until my parents were divorced, both of them were with me; my siblings were probably off with friends, considering the age difference. I loved all the decorated houses in the neighborhood, and how friendly everyone was.
3. When did you stop trick or treating? Why? I think I may have stopped between 10 and 13, because we were living at Venice and I don't remember going through the neighborhood alone (I remember going once with Dawn, so that would have been like 15). I went when I turned 14, with Paul. And he kept scaring kids by running up to them like he was going to steal their candy. I think I went the next year also, but to take my nephew Michael out. I had to carry his tail. =D Then I went later with Ryan in Beverly Hills, when I was like 18 I believe. Heheh.
4. Do you like Halloween parties? Why or why not? If you do like Halloween parties, what aspect do you like the most? I have never been to one, but I would imagine that I would like it. ::Sulk.::
5. As an adult, do you still have fun on/for Halloween? If so, how? Last year Mike, Ryan and I went to West Hollywood for the block party, which ended up being very interesting. We hung out with Insecto and we got recruited (well, Mike and I did. Ryan's friends with them). This Halloween I think is going to be a bust, unless Mike and I find something interesting to do.
Bonus Question - What's your favorite scary movie and why? As I said in the Friday Five, Thirteen Ghosts would have to be my favorite, simply because it did (does? haven't seen it since the time in the theatre) scare me. I've been watching horror flicks for ages, since Mom let me pick any movie I wanted whenever we went to Blockbuster. I almost always picked a B-rated horror flick. The only thing that came close to 'scaring' me was the scenes in Pet Semetary with the older sister who has some disease. Ew. I had to fast-forward through those. On the other hand, Exorcist gave me a good jump last night. It was when the younger priest looked at the girl, and instead of seeing her, he saw some lady in white just staring at him. That gave me the heebie-jeebies!
