Another Dull Day

My alarm went off at 8am this morning. X_X I forgot to reset it after yesterday morning, and so I was like "URG*$^^^$((#)#" this morning when it went off. Very discombobulated (I spelled that incorrectly, didn't I? Spellcheck on MT would be nice!).

Work went about the same as any other day, with the exception that it was dreadfully slow. I spent like 15 minutes downstairs, talking with . . . shit, everyone. I bullshitted with Brian, who was perfecting his signature; then I talked with Jarrad for a few (he was helping me come up with a tattoo idea). Alexia came down and I found out that she's got like major schooling in art, but I can't talk her into drawing me a tattoo (sulk!). So then I had to run over to the registers and find out if Evan or Amie could — nope. ::Sigh!:: Jarrad did come up with an amazing idea though . . . Anywho, I was bs'ing with Amie when Padric came down and "reminded" me that I was supposed to be upstairs. Bleh!

I did buy a book on my break: Writing Fiction Step-by-Step by Josip Novakovich.

Wow, I would so have included a link to the book, but Amazon is like DEAD at the moment. Very strange. It loads up the header bar with the links, and no content. And it takes a good amount of time for it to load any of that. Ew, now the page errored out entirely.

So, I bought the book because it has over 200 writing exercises, and I thought I could probably use them when working on my story. Mostly for those times when I have complete brain-fade going on, and I need an outside creative boost (meaning from working on something outside my main one). That's mostly why I considered doing two novels, and it looks like I may not be the only one.

After floating around the NaNoWriMo forums for a bit, and checking out posts, I found an interesting service, called Stories.com. You can register an account with them, post your stories and get rated. Guess now I can have stories posted in two locations, here and there.

Shit, its 2:30. Time to kick Kahlua out of the room, reset my alarm and hit the bed. Mike's been snoring away from almost two hours now. Lucky bastard. ;-)
