This is a transcription of my handwritten journal. I copied it 'as is'—lowercase solely if that is the case, etc. Below are my thoughts on this old entry, as of the time of transcription; currently 2 July 2005.
Naomi and Zach picked me up at 9AM. Venice Beach. Naomi got a new Zippo and a shroom pipe. At Venus she got a butterfly tattoo with a tab in one wing and a bud leaf in the other. Hiked to old military base at Babe Ruth. Gonna go up there again on a clear day with my camera!
Naomi's tattoo would fall into the "Why did you get that?!" category. The butterfly was cool and all, but the drug references in it were bold. It almost makes me think of Mom's, but her's has skulls in the wings. I remember that Naomi's parents did not approve of tattoos, so she had to always hide it from them.
And done at Venus... ugh. That was the first tattoo shop that I can remember repeatedly going into, and watching it change over the years. Actually, to start it was a piercing shop, strictly. Heather and I used to go in there, and once the main piercer there flashed himself at Heather to show off his handiwork. LOL
